Warning Light On Dash

as the title says, a little red light comes up on the dash when i rev the car quite hard, it looks like a water warning light but its got a water in it and doesnt lose any,

 

any help as to what it could be,

Sounds like its caused by the coolant level sensor which is in the expansion tank (where you fill wiht water/coolant). Either its dirty and needs cleaning up or sometimes the ignition leads can cause interference if they are routed too close.

HT lead routing if you have a black expansion tank.

 

Its been on here several times before with this tank. If the leads run to close to the sensor (in teh bottom of the tank) at higher rpm they can give a flase signal.

thanks boys,

 

that would make sense as ive just put new leads on and i came across a problem with length so they are a bit all over the place and it is a black tank.

My stop light randomly lights now that I've changed the alternator, radiator, thermostat, normally after a B road drive or while sat in traffic the idle will drop to 800rpm and then the STOP light flickers on.

 

I'm guessing a dodgy earth or I've not connected a sensor properly. Any ideas?
