Explination Please I Dont Understand

Well took the calipers from the r reg 1.8 16v xsara which ive been told are the 266mm brakes. These figures were taken from brake world. 1.9 gti overall disk thickness 27.9mm and the standard 1.9 gti overall disk thickness is 34.5mm. the differance being 6.6mm. Ive done the searches so please be patient i want to learn rather than just be told. Im asuming this will affect the e.t, but not sure how? I think the wheel will sit further in the arch. Can anyone please explain. Many thanks phill

they wont affect how the wheel sits at all, the mounting surfaces are the same, the offset of the disc is different but so are the calipers to match.

 

not sure what the figures you've quoted are but most older PSA vehichles that use vented discs have 20mm thick ones.
