nick 3 Posted August 20, 2007 I have asked this question before but I just what to double check before I have the pistons machined. What is the measurment across the inner surface of the piston where the gudgeon pin goes through (across the piston where the little end is) Thanks, Nick
DamirGTI 342 Posted August 20, 2007 (edited) Hi ! I'm not sure which measurement you need but is it maybe this ?! : http://s27.photobucket.com/albums/c151/Pie...nt=klipovi2.jpg (you have more doc./measurements here in this post ) http://forum.205gtidrivers.com/index.php?showtopic=79150 hope this helps Damir Edited August 20, 2007 by DamirGTI
nick 3 Posted August 20, 2007 Thanks Damir, but it isn't that measurement that I need. I need to know the internal measurement between the gudgeon pin bosses (either side of the little end of the rod) It's a bit hard to explain, but if you look up inside a piston and can see the holes either side for the gudgeon pin, I need to know what the gap is between the two holes (across the piston). DamirGTI 342 Posted August 20, 2007 Ok. i will try to look at my other pug service books , if i can some more piston measurements or if you wish i can take some pics of the piston so you can mark the exact area from which you need measurement and we will measure that for you .. i have some spare 1.9 8v pistons in my garage ... nick 3 Posted August 20, 2007 (edited) Thanks for your help Damir, a photo would be good. If you could just measure between the two internal faces of the piston where the pin comes through (the two round holes either side of the piston) Nick Edited August 20, 2007 by nick
DamirGTI 342 Posted August 20, 2007 just to be sure please mark the area which you need me to measure (and do you need precise measurement in micrometers or ? will millimeters be fine ? as because i don't have too much measurement tools just one (for outer surface measurements ) micrometer , feller blades and other standard measurement tools ...) pics : http://s27.photobucket.com/albums/c151/Pie...nt=IMG_5532.jpg http://s27.photobucket.com/albums/c151/Pie...nt=IMG_5535.jpg http://s27.photobucket.com/albums/c151/Pie...nt=IMG_5537.jpg Damir

DamirGTI 342 Posted August 20, 2007 Yes , here you can see for yourself : http://s27.photobucket.com/albums/c151/Pie...nt=IMG_5538.jpg http://s27.photobucket.com/albums/c151/Pie...nt=IMG_5542.jpg http://s27.photobucket.com/albums/c151/Pie...nt=IMG_5544.jpg It says 28mm , is this enough or you need more precise measurement ?
