S16 Head On 1.6 Gti Xu Engine

Hi i was just wondering if it would be able to put a s16 head on a 1.6 xu engine? im getting megajolt so that the ignition sorted and im gettting R1 carbs for the fueling part.

yep, IIRC youll ned to drill and tap a hole for the extra tensioner, but its allready cast into the block.

what is already cast in the block? and what kind of performance would it have over the standard 1.6 8v head?

At a poke around 130-135 depending how much you rev it really, it flows enough for 155BHP standard with a 2L bottom end.

 

Also piston? valve pockets would need to be thought about and also compression would need sorting.

well if im going to need yo alter the comprssion ratio then i might aswell turbo, i got a ko4 turbo sitting in my garage and i would get more power from that then adding a 16v head
