gtimon 0 Posted August 16, 2007 I've noticed for some time my steering wonders abit on a straight bit of road or track. The steering has been checked out with nothing worn, as its had a MOT if I want to use it on the road. Also I had 309 front bottom wishbones fitted to see if it would improve things but no difference. So would it improve the wonder, if I altered the tracking to toe-out or in more away from the standard tracking when it was done when having the wishbones fitted, within reason not to cause un-due tyre wear. thxs
gtimon 0 Posted August 18, 2007 I've read somewhere in one of these topics, where adjusting the tracking can improve or make worse the turn-in when used on the track and it also said that it also can effect straight-line performance by making the car alittle twichy. Like I said mine tends to follow any uneveness in the road surface or tram lines in the surface and be alittle twichy. Would altering the tracking make any improvements, instead of fighting it when on these surfaces.
jackherer 543 Posted August 19, 2007 Are the wishbones you fitted aftermarket ones? If so I would fit a set of standard Peugeot bushes, they're only £15 for the whole set with new bolts and washers if you use the right part number. The aftermarket wishbones bushes are rubbish, my pug is running a pair of new 309 wishbones at the moment and has just passed an MOT but the handling is exactly like you describe and it wont be right until I change the bushes.
