Guest woll Posted August 15, 2007 Hey, I need pretty much a complete set of coolant hoses for my 1.6. Would love BBM's but not sure I can stretch that far. Can't see any from GSF (tho may have missed them). Anyone know the best place to get a set from...cheaply!? Thanks
welshpug 1,666 Posted August 15, 2007 the cheapest hoses you can get are amusingly the silicone kits out there, i.e Samco and BBM SFS etc.

JayCC 0 Posted August 18, 2007 I'm looking at getting a set of samco's for my new GTi. I had a set on my old F reg gti which were great. However on my new J reg car, the top rad hose goes through a plasic thing which is connected to two pipes going to the oil filter housing. Are there different sets for differet year models? Does the top rad hose just slide out of this plastic thing?
BuD 0 Posted August 18, 2007 Your old car had an air->oil oil cooler the new one is a water one. Its a whole different top pipe (and doesnt slide off)
Richie-Van-GTi 73 2 Cars Posted August 18, 2007 Ive got a vitually brand new top hose or the water / oil heat exchanger, literally done zero miles, car only ever ran for about half hour with it on, then I swapped engines , If you need it I will part at half the price of what I paid from autofive. As above though, silicon is cheaper than standard hosing. I spent aouple of hundred plus on replacing all my hoses, but I went overkill and used all 10 bar heater hoses , I bought it by the meter from car builder solutions in all the diameters I required. Miles 331 1 Cars Posted August 18, 2007 That top hose isn;t available in Silicone, Samco don;t even supply a few of the other hoses too so it's pretty pointless really and having tried getting some info from them I would never use them, They couldn;t even email me a picture of a hose to make sure it was the right one
