Quickshift + Magnex.does It Work?

Recommended Posts

sussex_gti

I remember a while back when i fitted a Magnex manifold for a friend on a 1.9 that the instructions stated that the manifold wont fit with an aftermarket quickshift.

Like an idiot i only remembered this after i ordered the kit from Constella, comprising of 3 rods and quickshift. Has anyone come across this problem? I've just picked up a good Magnex manifold, and want to fit it this weekend as my Oe one is blowing.

Cheers,

Chris.

Depends on what type of Quickshift, If it's the horrid extended tin arm on the 'L' then it will be fine, as will the much better gearstick they do but then ground clearance can be a issue,

The rod's are no thicker than std so that should be good too,

miles will "your" quick shift ie. drill a whole in the origional gear bracket and bolt a new bit in work with a magnex manifold?

I reckon it will but just want to double check

I have never tried it personally but I can;t see why not as it clear's the 16v 4-2-1 which takes up more room

Cheers Dave, i spoke to the guy at Constella, was honest and said he didnt know, but if it didnt, he'd refund me my money for the quickshift, and develop a new one. Ordered the lot, so fingers crossed!

I've got the Constella quickshift and GrpN rods, good quality, everything fits well. I don't have a Magnex system though, but everythings got good clearance on a standard exhaust and re-angled 16v manifold.

No worries buddy, yea the guys pretty sound there! well good luck with it all! makes such a difference, a really solid change! i just set the quick shifter onto the max for starters and felt fine, so no need to worry about how much up / down the slider it should go! gd luck getting your old linkages off! 2 of mine basically just fell of, but the shortest one was a right pain in the a*s lol

Cheers

Dave

A couple of my friends have the full Constella kit, and is spot on. Maybe you have it too tightly adjusted?
