Help, Info Required On 309 Drive Shaft

Recommended Posts

Spiky

i recently bought a new (drivers side ) drive shaft from Euro car parts

went to fit it yesterday and it's in the box as much as possbible, but the bearing which sit's in the mount at the bottom rear of the engine isn't fully in

anyone ever had this???

can someone measure there's (obvously and non fitted one) from the end (box end) to the start of that bearing,

i have phoned them and they are getting me a replacement,

but i'd like to make sure it isn't fitting due to manufacturing issue and not the fact i have a GTI-6 engine fitted

Hi,

Just measured it and it is 235mm from centre of g/box bearing to centre of intermediate bearing. Or 225mm from chamfered g/box end to start of intermediate bearing. Hope that helps

I thought it wouldnt matter what shafts you had as long as they were BE shafts, all the inner ends are the same???

oh, and the pics are rather MAHOOOSIVE!!! click resize in photobucket and theres a 640 by 480 option, mych more friendly to low bandwidth
