pip470 61 Posted August 12, 2007 I have the chance of getting this car for £100, What i would like to know is what engine is this? I think its an alloy block 1.8 16 valve, Will it fit a 205? Can i use any parts such as beam, brakes gearbox? Anything you can tell me would be great. Thanks in advance. welshpug 1,657 Posted August 12, 2007 (edited) use gti6 exhaust and intake manifolds or t/b's with aftermarket management and you've got a nice light powerplant. brakes will typically be 266mm vented, or 247mm vented, not sure if this model would have rear discs, trailign armsa will do the trick on a 305, but the tube is too wide. Richie-Van-GTi 71 2 Cars Posted August 12, 2007 definatley worth getting, as above use gti manifolds with it, can even use gti6 cams. If possible though make sure you unplug the ecu with engine running.
pip470 61 Posted August 12, 2007 Great stuff looks like its good to go then. Any one know what this engine is called ie xu....., The ecu hasnt got the key pad in side the cabin so does it still need unpugging whilst running. Thanx for your answers
welshpug 1,657 Posted August 12, 2007 yes, itll be the later Keycode transponder immobiliser, IIRC you dont need the engine running, just the ignition on. its the XU7JP4 IIRC.

Baz 421 Posted August 12, 2007 Cheap enough i suppose, and they supposedly respond well to the GTi6 bits being added as mentionned, although would cost more! Good base though, being all alloy too.
