large 33 Posted August 12, 2007 I have a ph2 dash and have removed every thing under the hazard, fog and R,h,S. switch. I have however used a switch to turn the heaters off or on (no speed controle) if i can work out how to put a photo on i will.
Baz 421 Posted August 12, 2007 I plan on putting mine all on switches for the same reasons, permanently set to windscreen and slight heat, i did really want to keep some way of adjusting them though, even if it made it difficult to do so, ie. leaving the cables hanging etc.
dodsworth_gti 11 Posted August 13, 2007 i was thinking, blower speed could go on a switch no probs,i think, windscreen is the only setting i use in pug any way, heat,im sure you can get a 3 place rocker switch i dont know what to do i did think of makeing a plate undr the dash to mount them on why did pug give these things so many bloody wires lol
Richie-Van-GTi 71 2 Cars Posted August 13, 2007 I ditched the lot, heater matrix etc an put a small window demister in from car builder solutions, just have one small toggle switch now which goes on warm, off, on cold. Less pipes to go wrong, loads lighter and very neat.
gti_al 1 Posted August 13, 2007 (edited) Pull it apart and i'm sure you will find a solution. The heat/direction work off cables, so you could leave them tucked away somewhere tidy. Won't look the best, but would be functional and an easy solution. Maybe put a three way switch in for the fan? That way you can ditch the odd resistor thing, and have the fan fully off (quiet!), on low to keep things clear, or full to demist the screen when you first get in?
