I Give Up! Mi Help Anyone

Recommended Posts

Cas

Well put my new mi engine in since I killed the other one :) got it all up and running thanks to lots of help from Anthony and Alan...took it for a drive yesterday seemed to run fine, very quick strong engine...

well was going to nip it up to kwik fit later to get the last exhaust clamp because it seems to be an awkward size (where the backbox meets) to the rest of it...

anyhoo it started...ran sounding horrible, spluttery and popping, and I mean loud pops! then spluttered out, tried it up again it started did the same and now it just trys to start but wont checked all the plugs and wires were in, they are, pulled the AFM off and checked it all and its opening freely, unfortunatly Alan and Anthony are at the ring this weekend so I cant steal them to have a look :) any ideas?

Cheers

Cas

Bit of a long shot but has the dizzy moved out of adjustment?

I don't know off the top of my head if these engines use a Crank position sensor but if it has then thats worth checking too.

I had a car do that when the nylon drive pin for the dizzy snapped (bloody nova :D )

Will fit a new AFM and see what happens, dizzy is fine, all leads etc are fine, no play nothing disconnected, temp sensor is in fine.....

Only problem is, Alan has taken the only bloody garage key to the ring so I cant get in to my own personal "205 parts" bin :)

Hopefully Sam will be popping one over though as I dont trust the 306 on longer journeys either untill its working properly.... :D
