£150 on car, £150 on 2.0 Turbo Engine + gaz shocks , £10 intercooler, o and a rebuilt beam by wurzel..

Heh...like somebody else said, Ive spent more on jubilee clips and stainless hex fittings. Well done for getting it done so quick - mine is nowhere near, despite major setback and despite owning a garage!!

 

Ah well, paying jobs come before playing jobs Good stuff.

£323 isn't that much but to give you an idea what you turbo boys are up against I once built a 205 Mi16 for £92 so you still have a way to go! (a 205 1.6 GTI from someone on here for £30 and a BX 16v off ebay for £62)

Hmmm! I was about to suggest a competition for the cheapest racer (like CCC Magazine did back then), but somehow £92 put me off........

 

My cheapest BX was 300 so far and usable GTIs were not below 400 either.

I hate it when people tell me this, but somebody, somewhere took the piss. Royaly.

 

Here's where I'm at exactly, ignoring the thousands spent restoring the shell, interior, Brembo brake kit, hydraulic handbrake and 405 TD 'box (already in shed) and all the 309 running gear:

 

Complete Peugeot 605 SRTi 80

Valeo Mi16 clutch 110

Silicon hoses for Intercooler 160

Stainless steel for downpipe, intercooler, water pipes etc... 200 plus

Spark plugs 15

HT leads 22

Coil pack (broken on 605) new 75

Timing belt kit 56

Water pump 38

Head gasket thermostat and bolts etc.. 100 odd

Mi16 engine mount (new) 70

Throttle cable 10

Cosworth Intercooler 10 (£6) (I love u ebay)

 

Plus lots of stainless bolts, jubilee clips, spare bits of hose and TIME

 

Grand total of 946 which relate to about six hundred quid. And I'm sure I've forgotten plenty....

 

Ah well, it's still fun, n'est ce pas?

lol am easily at 3 grand but that was starting with a bare shell i got for 300 notes and renewing almoast everything lol
