Mi16 And The Sad Valve?

Recommended Posts

ORB

OK, so I have searched, I did find some bits but was looking for advise directed at this question please?

I have fitted my 1.9 alloy MI16 into the 205 Running GTi injection.

Whats your thoughts on a SAD valve? do I bother?

Do i just ignore the riring for the sad and not bolt it on?

Do I bolt on the sad and see what happens?

Whats your thoughts?

Andy R ran an Mi on MP3.1 wth an SAD for a while & had no issues but personally if I was going to fit any 16v engine I wouldn't use the 8v wiring & ecu at all unless I was getting it re-mapped asap.

Graham.

The SAD will bolt onto the top of theinlet manfiold and can be plumbed in much the same way the idle control valve would normally be. I ran mine like this before I fitted Motronic. However, even when plugged in, it would take a long time to knock off a high idle since the top of the inlet manifold is a cooler place than the regular home for the SAD (it uses a bimetallic strip as well as the connection to control the opening of it and seems to require heat to keep it closed)
