welshpug 1,657 Posted August 5, 2007 (edited) you cant really get it wrong, its more likely to be a poor connection, i.e corrosion in the Brown multiplug (if you have one) and also the earth to the gearbox from the battery, get these right and it should be fine. also check the positive feed from the battery yo the shunt box on the slam panel, its worth replacing the nut and cleaning up the surfaces with fine wet'n dry. djinuk 2 Posted August 5, 2007 glad to hear that, cheers for the help, would i be best bypassing the brown multi plug all together
welshpug 1,657 Posted August 5, 2007 not really, just replace it, do a search for "brown multiplug" I posted some pictures of a superseal connector I fitted to my car which did the trick nicely. you may find it best to replace a few lengths of wire from the plug to the starter ETC as they do have a hard life under that intake manifold. Grim.Badger 15 Posted August 8, 2007 There should be a guide in one of the bolt holes, if this is missing the starter can be just out of alignment. Could also be a duff starter. It doesn't sound like typical brown multiplug problems but check it anyway.
