pugbliss 0 Posted August 4, 2007 Hi Ive been to one of those auto jumbles and found a new intermoter squre coil but it was unlabeled. The girl said she was not sure if it was for a 1.4 or a 1.6/1.9. so for £4 i bought it. upon looking for the code on the web ive now found its for a 1.4. So what is the diffrence between the 2. is the 1.4 version just give a weaker spark so to speak???? as it is identical to my old 1.6 square coil???? any help appriciated joe
jim21070 2 Posted August 5, 2007 Yep, I'll try Joe... If it is for a 1.4 carb model and has one HT tower and a 4? pin connector it'll be fine. What I'm saying is if it will physically fit and connect up with no terminals left over it'll be OK. Later 1.4s had dizzyless ignition using a square twin-coil with 4 HT connections. These will not work.
