SimonJ 2 Posted August 2, 2007 Long story but have ended up with a new starter but not from a 205. Think it is from a 306 and is slimmer (and maybe longer) than the 205 one and has either 10 or 11 teeth rather than the 9 of the 205 one. Does this fit the 205? Could probably swap it OK at the motor factors but newer design starters are bound to be more reliable?
Ahl 4 Posted August 2, 2007 I've always heard that any 306 starter from their XU engines will fit the 205 (though you have to remove the defunct rear bracket on the 205 usually). Not sure about the teeth though - perhaps the starter is from a later HDI engine?

I've got a D6RA (iirc) from an S16 on mine and it works well.
