Purflux Oil Filters - Different Serial/item Id

Recommended Posts

Trick

I had a batch of purflux filters in the garage from a few yrs ago, so thought id use one on my MI.

The one i took of the MI was LS923, and the one i have in stock is LS867 or something

they looked identical...

does this number matter?

LS867 was replaced by LS867B in 96 but ity appears to be for the mi. LS923 has similar specs but is for newer cars.

google is very helpful.

Super Josh

Doesn't the LS923 have better filtration? and is designed to be used with these modern 'Long Service' Oils?

LS867B is cheaper than LS923.

Outer dimensions and fittings are identical.

The number-thing was probably only a marketing exercise to keep the competition away.
