pugbliss 0 Posted July 24, 2007 Hey all, Over say the past weekor so the pug has seemingly started to lose power when you try to accelerate and sounds a bit rough too. so ive replaced the following... cam belt and tesionor. spark plugs. leads. roter arm. oil plus filter cleaned air filter (k&n) the only other things i think it could be are dizzy cap coil ignition module. what do you all think???? cheers joe
Smigzy 0 Posted July 24, 2007 I was losing power and it turned out that one of the injectors was loose and pulling in air. Spray a bit of carb cleaner over them with the engine running. If the revs change, then there's your problem.

large 33 Posted July 25, 2007 I was down on power on a gti-6 turned out to be the head gaskit have you done a compression test?
pugbliss 0 Posted July 28, 2007 Yes compression is good across all 4 cylinders, i think i will get a new fuel filter and see what happends....
gti-si 0 Posted July 28, 2007 Check your ignition timing is correctly set up and is'nt retarded, although they don't usuaally reatrd themselves . Give it a good check over for air leaks. I'd put it on a gas analyser aswell and have the mixture checked out. Are the injectors spraying freely etc? And as jack says, check the fuel filter out
Mikey S 29 1 Cars Posted July 28, 2007 check that the mechanical advance in the dizzy is working as well. if its seized they do go flat.
