Top Half Of The Dash

how the hell do i remove the top half of the dash?? i want to know before i rip it out, is there any thing i have to watch out for? e.i. wires pipes?

Right this will take a bit of explaining but I'll give it a shot.

 

First remove the heater dials and the coin tray (all pull off). Then remove all the air vents in the same way. You then need to remove the guages. To do this take off the column shroud via the screws underneath and then the guage surround via screws in the same place and 1 under where the coin tray was. There is also a torq screw on the right (presuming it's RHD car) of the pod which needs unscrewing. The surround then lifts off. Remove the clocks by disconnecting the plugs and the speedo cable.

I think you'll need to remove the glovebox and the compartments around the drivers knees too but It'll be obvious if you have to.

 

To actually remove the dash there are 3 bolts. One under each side air vent and one in the centre. Undo these and the dash should be free to move. You may need to go outside and remove the scuttle panel under the windscreen to get to the other side of these bolts too.

 

I think that is it but it's all from memory so I hope I've missed nothing out.
