Low Compression Cti Engine And Acceptable Boost Levels

Recommended Posts

Anton green

I am considering building a low compression 1.9 cti engine with a supercharger and then slipping it in to the 205 bay.

What would be an acceptable boost level to run this engine at without any mods, and what kind of power / torque figures will I be looking at from the finished article?

Thanks

I think it has been discussed before....if you search you will probably find out more.

However i think with no mods then up to 1 bar of boost with a good managmet system. What CR are you planning on?.

Comp ration is 8.1:1 I run half a bar no problem. 164bhp and 200lb/ft of torque. The engine is also found in a Gentry too or an auto GTI

It'll depend on more things that the CR. The intercooler efficiency will have an effect as will the type of management. With roots blowers you can maybe look at running a 5th injector before the charger so that the fuel seals the blades and casing better. This will up boost and cool the charge so would be an interesting option. Dont think this can work with an intercooler though because i think the fuel would pool in the intercooler.
