large 33 Posted July 23, 2007 I am putting a 1.9 lump in my 1.6 Gti (instead, not as well ) I was just going to swap the block and head but after reading some posts i think i will also have to change some other bits. Air flow meter, injectors, ecu. Do i have to change these bit or can i use the 1.6 ones and is there any other parts i should change?
Richie-Van-GTi 71 2 Cars Posted July 23, 2007 if you are using any 1.6 bits use them all, IE ecu with injectors, dizzy and AFM, or all 1.9. You wont get the full benefit if you run 1.6 parts. Much better to swap them over to 1.9.

Just take the coil off and pretend it was never there! Use the coil set up you already have
large 33 Posted July 25, 2007 will do thanks are the injectors interchangable i.e. dose one plug fit all.
steve@cornwall 100 Posted July 25, 2007 will do thanks are the injectors interchangable i.e. dose one plug fit all. Injector plugs fit onto both type of injector (blue 1.6 and yellow 1.9). As they all fire at once the order is not important either
