Adnic69 0 Posted July 21, 2007 Just finished my MI16 conversion. Ran well when first started. Took it around the block and was ok till nearly home then it developed a continuous misfire( running on 3). Checked the dizzy cap which was shagged so got a new cap and rotor, fitted and still misfiring. Today I changed the leads, coil and injectors for known good ones, still bloody misfiring! Plugs are new too. It is on std induction,ecu. What else would cause it to do this? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Toddy 7 Posted July 21, 2007 Ignition amp normally gives intermittent fault, try the Injector plug leads inside that a prong hasnt been pushed down the connector. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Adnic69 0 Posted July 22, 2007 Have just tried another ignition amplifier thanks to 28Craig with no joy. Have just done a comp test and am showing 15.5 on 1 and 14.25 bar on 2,3,4 so that rules out any bad things. That leaves only the crank sensor or as Kieran said, a wiring problem. The annoying thing is that it was running ok, really well when it had its new cap and rotor on till I went to drive it. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

jackherer 543 Posted July 24, 2007 nice one those injector plugs are becoming a more common problem as the looms get older, I remember the first time I had that fault, I found and fixed it at a south meet, got in the car to take someone for a passenger ride and the clutch cable snapped...
