welshpug 1,649 Posted July 19, 2007 Hi all, posting on behalf of a friend who has an XU7 engine citroen basically we know its a good unit, though a little restricted, the gti6/vts inlet manifold fits, as does the exahust IIRC, though a gti6/vts cat/downpipe would be required to mate it to the rest of the system. how much of a gain would be typically expected from this modification? and what if we were to fit a pair of gti6 cams? Sandy 191 Posted July 20, 2007 If the ECU can handle it, you should see it jump about 10-15bhp, the standard XU7 TB is restrictive. The cams are also worth swapping, but I've only done this with mappable management, so I don't know if the standard ECU can compensate enough to handle it. It's a lovely engine like that for sure. Anthony 1,002 Posted July 25, 2007 8 or 16valve XU7 ? They're talking about the 16v engine.
Bally 4 Posted July 25, 2007 We run an 16 valve Xu7 in a 205 for circuit racing andthe car really flies, also with that head we have zero oil surge problem. It has throttle bodies, fully mappable management ignition and fuel and Gti6 extractor. Just fitted the Gti 6 cams too , but have to remap it now.
