tombo 0 Posted July 16, 2007 has anyone ran these ona 1.9 205 gti, and if so do they rub on the inside of the front and rear arches or at full lock. i heard they were slightly different offset to standard wheels but have the opportunity to make a great deal for a fantastic set of mi wheels. can someone please help me on this as i need to know if i can go for these or not? tombo Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
welshpug 1,657 Posted July 16, 2007 yes they will rub, in fact they may not actually bolt on due to the offset. they are ET28, so if you have some longer bolts and 10mm spacers they'll be spot on. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Henry Yorke 269 3 Cars Posted July 16, 2007 They are fine on a 1.6, but IIRC you may need a spacer to clear the front caliper on a 1.9. I remember someone doing that years ago on a 205. Turbo7379 3 Posted July 18, 2007 The reason why there's a difference of opinion here may be that MI16's came with 14 & 15" alloys . I can confirm that the 15" ones definately fit a 1.9GTI . I'm running a set on my rally car shod with 205/50 15 tyres & I've no problem with rubbing except on full lock when the front tyre rubs the inner arch . There is loads of clearance for the front caliper . There isn't a lot of room between the rear tyre & the trailing arm but they don't rub . I don't think they will fit a 1.6 GTI without spacers on the rear wheels . Go-on , buy them . They do look nice on a 205 . Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
