Injection Fuel Hose.

Recommended Posts

Hi,

Have noticed my Semperit fuel hose from filter to fuel rail has started to perish with

small cracks appearing on the outside :) really surprised this has started to occur

What would you guys reccomend I buy to replace it? Can I use overbraided hose without finishers?

Cheers

Sam.

I did Sam, just put a bit of fabric tape on it to stop it fraying.

Was that cotton or stainless steel overbraided?

Thought your's was carbed anyway? :)

It is but didn't think it would make a difference.

Was stainless and just assumed you wanted a way to stop it fraying. :(

I used it on mine with injection, I just trimmed the overbraid back about 5mm so the end of it were under the jubilee. never had any problems at all.

If its starting to perish I'd replace it with new fuel hose & then add the over braid to that if you want to.

Once a hose has started to perish, especially on a high pressure fuel line imo its not a good idea to cover it rather than replace it.

Espeically when you consider that proper braided brake lines still fail.

Yes I will be replacing the complete line, not just overbraiding it :(

J, I just assumed different rating's of hose for injection v's carb.

Cheers for the replies fella's :)

Yup its differant for carbs/injection. motor factors sell it, just mesure the inside diameter. (I/D)
