Richie-Van-GTi 74 2 Cars Posted July 16, 2007 if its standard size tyres and wheels then maybe it has the wrong drivewhel in the gearbox, what box is it?
Henry Yorke 269 3 Cars Posted July 16, 2007 You need to make sure that the toothed wheel on the end of the driveshaft is the correct one for the speedo worm. Changing the worm only doesn't seem to work.
jeremy 71 Posted July 16, 2007 If you have standard 1.9 wheels on a 1.6 it will make about very little difference on the speedo. Only the other day on my private runway my 1.6 with 1.9 wheels was saying 98mph on the clock, yet the Sat Nav registered 100mph
sutol 0 Posted July 16, 2007 Sound like the speedo thinks that it it is geared as a 1.9 but it is actually geared as a 1.6 so as Henry says, I would look at the speedo drive bits.
