Few Little Things

Righto....

1. First of all i think my battery is f***ed as when i start after a charge on a charger it will start but when i turn it off it will not re start just hear the starter try to engage  . Alternator new this week so ruling out this out.....

2. Had a look through quite a few posts on this but nothing which really helped. It's the old chestnut of the rev counter!!!:blush: connected wire 112 to the green wire from the coil, if i earthed the shield cable would that stop it from working?

Think thats it!!

Cheers Jim

Connections looked all good and clean, has had new battery clamps on this weekend  , but around 26 quid for a battery gotta look for that place :P , halfrauds wanted 47 and locla motorfactors around forty he thinks  i just want cheap and reliable!! haha

With the rev counter one thing i forgot to say was that one the starter is trying to engage you do get a sign of life from the rev counter. Reading other posts it seems that this might be down to a failing coil? :P

try running a wire direct from battery to starter solenoid next time it wont start, sounds like a failing wire to me rather than battery.

Cheers richie just tried that on now and it still wouldn't just hear the starter motor getting slower and slower :D , just have to bite the bullet and get a battery now :D

Well it did turn out to be the battery as a new one seems to have solved the problem!!! :(

Now its that pesky rev counter to sort out!!

Wohoo sorted out the rev counter!!! Of all things the one i didn't check was the wire between the coil and the multi plug , bypassed that and i got proper life sorted!! All guages present and accounted for , just need a oil temp one and the coolant temp i think :)
