Guest tim_1.9 Posted July 13, 2007 After some rather robust internal cleaning of the distributer, my 1.9s engine sometimes cuts out when I put the clutch down. I don' think it needs any adjustment. Is it possible to replace parts inside the dizzy or do I have to replace the whole thing? Does anyone know if there is any where that does refurbished ones? matty_gti 20 Posted July 13, 2007 If you search there was a post a little while ago about dizzys etc and about a place that rebuilds distributors. Matt
Rob_the_Sparky 9 Posted July 13, 2007 Sounds like you have adjusted the ignition timing. This can dramatically impact your tick-over...
Guest tim_1.9 Posted July 14, 2007 Thanks. Found previous thread, that was actually me as well - spelling distributor wrong this so I could find it again. Could just be the ignition timing, the engine seems a little down on power as well, but having taken the springs inside, out and not definitely fitted them back in the right way round. It could equally be them.
Rob_the_Sparky 9 Posted July 16, 2007 Well 2nd hand dizzys aren't uncommon so if you get stuck you could try another (or just borrow one to try).
