Front Suspension On 205 2.0 Turbo

Recommended Posts

Guest am_i_mad?

Just a quick question while doing my conversion.

I can see from the turbo block thats it's a steel one where as the original 1.9 was obviously an alloy block. Will this affect the suspension on the front at all or will it be not enough to notice.

This sound like a well naieve question but i just don't know about these things lol.

Doesn't seem to make a particularly noticeable difference to suspension that's in good fettle, but it definately highlights dampers that are on their last legs - certainly a friends car felt noticeably undamped at the front with a S16 lump, but fine(ish) when a 1.9 8v was put in it...

Right. Think i will invest in a good set of shocks as well then. Does anyone know of a good spring shock combo also my rear beam got played about with by the last owner and was lowered 60mm. I want to lift it back up to either 30mm lower than standard or just plain standard but don't have a clue how to do it.

Cheers

I feel no difference what's so ever, I am running stiff as you like Konis and 16" wheels also.

I'd go for a nice alloy intercooler and alloy boost pipes as to not add any further weight

up front.

If you don't know about it you won't notice the difference. It differs maybe 20 kg, most of us would barely notice 100 kg difference...
