Grinding Gears (reverse Only)

Recommended Posts

rossi

Right, it's bugging me now. Pretty sure it's a Be1 box on 1.9 ph1.5 (Lift up and reverse top left). Clutch is all the way to the floor, and no matter what I do 1st -5th to reverse, it always grinds when the engine has warmed up.

However, when the engine isn't quite warm, it doesn't grind at all? Whats the deal here? I've thinkin clutch cable adjustment. Anyone confirm this?

Yes, sounds likely. Also check the arm the cable connects to on the gearbox isn't bent as they fatigue with age on be1 boxes.

ditch the oil and put fresh in if its temperature related, sounds like low level or incorrect oil. You need 75/80. I reccomend total BV.

How many litres does it take to fill up a box with fresh oil?
