quagmire 0 Posted July 8, 2007 I was changing the HT leads the other day, I took the dizzy cap and rotor arm off (as you do) changed the leads and put it all back together. The engine would then rotate but wouldn't fire. I took the dizzy cap off and had a look, it seems that if I put the rotor arm all the way onto the pin its not making contact (hence not firing) if I only put it half way onto the pin and then push the dizzy cap over it it starts fine. The cap and arm are new so just wondering if this is normal or could I have the wrong rotor arm?
Richie-Van-GTi 74 2 Cars Posted July 9, 2007 sounds like a wrong part somewhere.

quagmire 0 Posted July 9, 2007 The carbon contact seems fine, doesn't look broken and pushes in and out on the spring ok.
