can't get the old one out! does it only go in/out 1 way? hoping I can get it out in teh garage without having to get anything pressed, even though I work in a press/forge shop.

Just cut through the outer metal part of the old bush. It will then tap out very easily.

As above, hack the rubber insert out with a sharp blade then feed a hack saw blade through the empty space and cut the metal shell. It should tap outeasily then :P, also when you kncok the new one in take great care to ensure it goes in flat and coat it in copper slim or moly grease. I found heating the ally shell on a hob before refitting the new steel inner helped.

when I got mine done by the local PSA specialist all they did was press the old one out and the new one in at the same time, which looking at it is a damn good way to do it really! saves a lot of time :P

might be worth popping to a local garage to get the new one pressed in. I pressed mine in and it took the best part of 20 seconds, and goes in nice and straight

I could probably just get someone in work to do it, but the press shop people are funny about stuff like that.

Well that sounds OK, be good to have a laugh while they are doing it.

lol. nah they don't like doing outside work. my dad's half way through making a jog now to press the old one out and the new one in together (he's worked in wokshops for years making his own tools to make jobs easier, so I'm "letting" him work this one out )

having what off him?

in the end I cut the rubber out of the old mount, then cut 2 grooves down the steel outer and hammered the slither in the middle out. then I used the outer ring as a jig to press the new mount in and got it in dead straight. thanks for all the advice.

hoping these BBM mounts will be stiff enough to keep the rocker cover well away from the master cylinder!
