Master Cylinders Buggered. Gsf?

Recommended Posts

oli-pug

right, my master cylinder exploded on the 205's first test drive in 2 months. i want to replace it quick so i was thinking of getting a 22.2mm 405 one from gsf. they're listed as £46.50 +vat but are they alright from there?

how quick do brakeparts.co.uk usually deliver cause its about a tenner cheaper there?

also, ive got gti180 brakes... am i best off with the 22.2mm or standard 20.6mm?

Brake parts deliver quickly.

I have GTI180 calipers too.

I bought a 405 one and a 205 one brand new...(don't ask) I put the 205 one on and noticed the pedal travel was longer but got quite used to it. The 405 MC sat around and I couldn't be bothered to change it so I sold it a few months ago.

is the pedal alot longer with the gti180 brakes as i know the piston diameter isn't much different to the standard brakes?

basically, can you still easily heel-toe with the 20.6 mc thats my main priority! :P

^ not really - it gives you long travel and soft pedal - basically a brake feel of the newer cars.

though some people find it easier to "modulate" the brakes with longer pedal travel... but i know i don't :P.
