I Want To Raise The Height Of My Rear Suspension Slightly

Recommended Posts

Furiousd

I personally think the ride height at the back is too low (Lower than the front). I'd like to raise it so that it has the same clearance as at the front. Visually I think it looks a bit naff when the arch covers the top of the tyres, and I get a bit of scuffing when I've got a couple of lads in the back :D Here are some pictures, please let me know your opinions?

I am not sure how big a job this is or how much it is likely to cost for a mechanic to do the job. Will it require new parts or is it just a case of adjusting the beam?

Thanks in advance for any ideas!

the back looks to be the same height as the front, its just rear arches are smaller so gives the impression its lower. If your mates make the rear end scrub the take the seats out and give them a map to the bus stop :D

how does it handle without rear passengers?

Incidentally if you do raise it yopu wont need any parts and it takes about 1 hours if the beam and nuts are rusted/seized etc.

Thanks for the quick replies, I never though it was sloping down towards the back it just didn't seem to have the same clearance as the fronts. Car handles great with only 1 or 2 skinny rear passengers (which is why we all run them)

I take it then that I don't really want to raise the rear height without altering the fronts by the same amount?

Cheers

no, it should be fine to just make the rear slightly higher and leave the front.
