Alan_M 66 1 Cars Posted July 1, 2007 Quickie..... Can you swop a servo over with an Mi16 in situ? My servo is making seriously nasty noises, though does still brake and passes the MOT test, and would like to swop it. Plus the pedals bent Thanks
Edp 67 3 Cars Posted July 1, 2007 I'd imagine it being pretty difficult as replacing it on an 8v is hard enough. I guess if you take everything apart it might be possible but have no first hand experience.
Rob Thomson 6 Posted July 2, 2007 I reckon it's possible... I fitted a servo to my 309 Mi16 (which should have the engine and bulkhead in the same relative positions as a 205). Was a total bastard, and to do it I had to tie the servo's activation rod in the fully depressed position to make it small enough to go through the gap. But it went in though, and didn't take too long to do. Fit the MC afterwards. I was replacing a bias pedal box, so didn't have to take the servo out. But I reckon you'll be struggling to do it without finding a cunning way of holding the rod in (which will be a complete and utter bastard with the servo fitted to the car). But it is possible. If it goes in it will come out, it's just a case of experimenting with it until it does.
