Mi16 Alternator - Whats My Options?

I'm thinking the alternators dying on my Mi16. Whats my options for a replacement? i.e. what other engines/cars have the same or a similar alternator that I can use?

I think all the alloy XU engines have alternators that will fit. The only difference is the number of grooves on the pulley, but you can use the narrower 205 belt if you have to.

 

I've got the normal 1.6 GTI alternator on mine.

Yep me too; I've never used an Mi16 alternator - I've always used the original 8v 1.9 alternator with the tensioner bracket altered slightly to fit.
