welshpug 1,657 Posted June 28, 2007 a brand new AFM from GSF would be £250, a remanufactured one from ATP would be £150 exchange, not sure how much the sad would be. http://www.atpelectronics.co.uk/
Baz 421 Posted June 28, 2007 (edited) LOOOOAAAAADDSSAMONEEEEEY!!! What's wrong with yours? A friendly (& knowledgable) Mot tester will have a fiddle with the AFM whilst on a Gas analyser if need be, but what exactly are the symptoms of your problems? If you do need them, i'd advise just buying known good ones from someone off here. Edited June 28, 2007 by BazGTMi
Benito 0 Posted June 28, 2007 How much are they new Expensive! You're looking at about £150 upwards for an AFM. You're better of getting a cheap 2nd hand or reconditioned one from a scrappy, breakers, ebay etc. Why exactly do You need one? All 205 GTI's have bad 'idling', it's a known characteristic of the car, but adjustments to the AFM can sometimes help to improve it.
GWtaylor 8 1 Cars Posted June 28, 2007 Aaahhh My simptoms are very erattic reving from cold so i'm assuming SAD but stable when warmed at about 1000rpm but once gone for a drive it idles at 1500rpm

Pugnut 9 1 Cars Posted June 29, 2007 you may have done it already , but if you havent , check the integrity of the entire intake/breather system . give the sad a good clean. you can check you're afm with a mutimeter . please use the forum search facility , theres pages and pages on these subjects. just trying to help you spend a few hundred quid less
