John_205_GTi 0 Posted June 27, 2007 Does anyone know wether the struts from the boot hatch can be fitted to replace the bonnet strut? Has anyone done this and do you have any pics?
Jrod 7 Posted June 27, 2007 I very much doubt it considering the standard strut folds in half.
WildCards 0 Posted June 27, 2007 Does anyone know wether the struts from the boot hatch can be fitted to replace the bonnet strut?Has anyone done this and do you have any pics? Do you mean to fit gas dampers to the bonnet, like the later model 306's have? and remove the folding stay that is currently in place.
Ryan 99 Posted June 27, 2007 Apparently the struts from a 106 are the right length to use existing bolts in the engine bay (the far end of the bonnet hinge, and one of the wing bolts iirc).
sonofsam 5 Posted June 27, 2007 Yes, 106 or saxo boot struts work for the bonnet, you need the ball sockets also to replace the bolts on top of the wing and in the bonnet itself wich will need a trim to make enough room for the struts to compress. Went for Nova lifters in the end though, mucho shinier
