Flywheel Protection Plates On Xu 10's

Recommended Posts

i was wondering what the xu10's used to protect the bottom of the flywheel in stead of the pice of metal on 205's? i've got an xu10 be3 box and the plate doesn't fit. is it per chance the sump? thanks.

and if its a gti6 alloy sumped engine it wont have one either as the sump covers the end of the box.

my sump covers the lot, its easy enough to modify your plate anyway, just trim down the sides and fold it back or cut it out.

I leave the cover off, helps the clutch bell housing drain any spillages easier.

thanks for the reply, on the XU Engine & Gearbox Service and Maintenance page most of the current answers were by pugtorque.

the main reason i wanted it was because i have a lightened standard flywheel and i'm after a baffled sump. if i can't get a sutible sump i'll see about fitting the old plate and adding drain holes.
