Curses! Snapped Coolant System Bleed Valve

Recommended Posts

Veero

Went to unscrew the bleed nipple which is on the top small hose which comes off the stat housing on my Mi16 and the flat disc part turned and fell off leaving the threaded part well and truly in the hole, however enough of it snapped to not seal 100% so it seeps coolant out now :)

Any suggestions for removal?

I'm guessing if it's that firmly stuck in the hole drilling it out might be the only option. I do have a tiny Ezy out bit, with the right size drill that might work...

Any other suggestions? Also does anyone have a replacement bleed valve if I do get that one out? :D

Cheers

this happened on my 8v. i just jabbed at the plastic screw for a while and managed to screw a tiny little screw into it to seal it off, worked fine since. bodge job i know but you can bleed the system otherways.

happens on most of them :)

i got a small bit of hose, then used rtv/jubilee clip to seal one end then used another jubilee clip to clamp the other end onto the bleed pipe...

Just drill it out and run a tap down it, I always use a M6 bolt and copper washer.

Will get it out. Dunno why they used a plastic widget in the first place, asking for trouble. ^_^

All the washer pumps work by the way Miles, ta for those, even mine worked must be a wiring/stalk fault somewhere.
