Dent Repair

Recommended Posts

Veero

Sometime last year after spending a whole day trying to figure out why my Mi was running like a sack of crap, I lost my rag and (Im ashamed to admit it) hit my beloved 205.

The injury to the car was surprising, just at the top of the a-pillar by the drivers door is a fist print sized small dent. :(

I instantly felt sorry and am attempting to smooth things over with the car now by getting it running and heavily upgraded. One of the things is to fix this dent, no matter the cost.

The dent is perfectly smooth with no rough edges or cracks in the paint, it is only a few mm deep but is noticeable and mocks me every time I get in. Every time the car doesn't start (I think mainly to a s*itty brown multiplug connection mostly) I can hear it saying "That's for hitting me you git..."

I had a look under the headlining but there is a second skin underneath with no direct access to push it back out from the inside. Would one of those hot/cold dent repair people be able to do something maybe?

Any ideas what sort of cost I would be looking at to have this popped out?

Cheers

A Very Repentant Veero

I would imagine a dent specialist would be able to drill the skin inside and insert one of his matel dent tools into that. They have ways and means of getting to all parts of a car.

If its only a shallow dent, with no sharp edges or creasing, it will probably pull out with a suction cup. You just have to be careful that the metal hasnt stretched, so it may need shrinking. Easy enough for any bodyshop!

Bring it to Pugfest and ket kev the Dent man sort it. He bonds something onto the body then slide hammers it out, thus pulling the dent out on a sealed panel. There is a post on it here to get your name down. Very cheap and very good. I usually pay a visit every year (to the dent man that is!!)
