M_R_205 5 1 Cars Posted June 15, 2007 im busy doing a mid engine conversion and want to use the widest track posible at the back so im going to be using the 306 gti6 subframe wishbones and hubs etc (as its the widest out of the 309 405 and 205) now im guessing the shafts will fit fine, (gti6 shafts into mi16 box) however im not sure what the gti6 top mounts are like, if they are different can i use 205 gti shocks and top mounts? as i have a `spare` set of gaz shocks on my lasses 205, also if anybody has a gti6 complete subframe (arb wishbones steering rack etc) drop me a pm as i aint got one yet, im also posting a ad in the wanted section cheers Paul
Richie-Van-GTi 74 2 Cars Posted June 15, 2007 replied to your wanted add, not sure if the 306 subframe will fit, I measured up before as I was hoping to do something similar but never got round to it and cant remember what was different. You will see a great benefit if you get it on though apart from the track width, you will get much cheaper wishbones and interchangeable ball joints. 306 shafts wont be a problem but you may need to change one of the inners for the mi16 box, unless you fit a 306 diff. 205 shocks fit the 306 hubs fine or you can just use your 205 hubs if they are 1.9's. You will find a lot of camber on the front end though, it may be advisable to use eccentric top mounts to counteract some of it, I think it will have too much otherwise. Sandy 191 Posted June 15, 2007 I'm running 306 front track on the 309, by modifying the 309 subframe to accept the 306 arms. It's not easy at all and the chassis legs even need modifying to clear. The 306 subframe is nowhere near bolt on, don't waste your time!
Guest jarrods Posted June 15, 2007 The way I read it he is going to put it in the back and is using it because it has the widest track. Jarrod

Hilgie 16 2 Cars Posted June 18, 2007 205 struts fit in the 306 hubs, so using the 306 subframe, wishbones and hubs is no problem at all if you want cables, take a look at a 806 or 406...so does the 307 have cables. which engine are you using for your midengined project?
