M_R_205 5 1 Cars Posted June 14, 2007 (edited) i was sitting in the beer garden of my local pub on sunday enjoying a pint of orange juice, when, an old blue corsa pulled up next to my 205, i though it was odd as the carpark was half empty, any way the door opens and a scabby chav leans out and stabs my car with a screwdriver and pops the door open, at this point i lept out of my chair wanting to murder the little s*it, any way he sees me running for him and `takes off` in the corsa, got the reg plate but the police are being usless..... rant over, whats the best way to fix this? it is right up against the lock and i dont fancy using filler, would a good bodyshop weld it up or what? would it be better to just de-lock the door as it is only the passenger door? would anyone recomend remote central locking ad de-lock both doors? any one know how to do this? Beastie 1 Posted June 14, 2007 I would have thought that the minimum satisfactory job would be to strip the paint from the affected area, restore the original shape where the hole has been punched through, weld up the hole, dress the weld flat, prepare to bright metal, phosphate treat, and refinish. And even then the corrosion protection is never going to be as good as the factory original which will have been destroyed in the weld effected zone. I'd seriously consider the cost effectiveness of getting another door - if you can get one which is straight and rust free then you'll just need a bit of paint prep and a coat of the correct colour. Paul The little bas**rd, you should've followed him in the 205. The remote central locking is easy, you get a few solenoids and the wiring all pre-made when you buy a new kit, they're pretty cheap aswell, and you get some brackets to mount them to too! Its more fiddly than difficult!
Jrod 7 Posted June 14, 2007 I'd of followed them for sure whilst on phone to police!

M_R_205 5 1 Cars Posted June 15, 2007 i rang them today and the said 50 quid to de lock each door (and fix the hole) and another 50 to fix the dent a sort the scratch, i i wanted the whole door resprayed it would be 100 per door, so not that expensive, il wait a few weeks till i get it done when im a litle more flush with cash, the police also called today and they found the corsa burnt out up past newcastle, they also said that about 10 other ppl had there cd players stolen and saw a blue corsa, the best thing is i dont have a cd player? f***ing idiots
johnnyboy666 195 1 Cars Posted June 16, 2007 if ur getting a central locking kit off ebay i'd be a bit wary as the one i got, the driver side soleniod burnt out within a day, so i had to wait a few weeks for them to send me another one which did the same in two days and they then refused to send me another one to be fair it was like £20 or summit- you get what you pay for i spose
