Guest moo Posted June 13, 2007 (edited) sorry if this is in the wrong section. (new to site) I need help identifying a part. It is a aluminum cylinder 10cm long by 2 in diameter. with 3 wires comming of it. its was found behind the front bumper tie wraped on. reads "Roche et moreau Genevilliers. E1 " on the bottom. there is another component simmiler near the top of the rad just dangling with seemingly no place to go. this had a D1 on it. my best gues is a temp sensor for the automatic chock. the car is a 1991 1.9 gti. also the part is badly croded. where do i look for a new one what eva it is! thanx. Baz 421 Posted June 13, 2007 Either the resistor for the fan, or for the headlights. Do away with it, they're rubbish!
Phil H 16 Posted June 13, 2007 turn the ignition and the parking lights on and if it gets red hot, it's the dim dip resistor !

Super Josh 4 Posted June 14, 2007 That has 3 wires on it, so it is the dim-dip resistor. The radiator fan resistor only has 2 wires Josh
