aitchy 0 Posted June 12, 2007 I have discovered a small leak , when you look at the radiator from the engine bay you can see that the bottom half looks wet or darker colour and the black hose that runs underneath it, has oil dripping from it to, took it to a garage who said that my oil cooler is probably leaking which is located behind the radiator, does this sound right? it is not a big leak only minor When driving the pressure is showing just above the 2 bar mark and when idle drops to about 1 and a half ? Car is idleing at 1500 rpm water temp gets high in traffic sits at 100 when hot and traffic is bad oil temp ive not seen above the 2nd or 3rd marker
pug_ham 244 3 Cars Posted June 12, 2007 It is quite possible the oil cooler or hose for the cooler is leaking, the hoses are a fairly common failures but usually go completely rather than just a small leak imo. The oil cooler is in front of the radiator though, in the fan cowling behind the grill near drivers side headlamp. Graham.
