djinuk 2 Posted June 11, 2007 The steering on my 205 xs feels very light, any idea what could be the cause of this ?
jim21070 2 Posted June 11, 2007 Depends what you are comparing it to. If it has PAS and you are comparing it to a non-PAS GTi then yes, it will feel very light. My PAS 205D feels silly-light. Other causes are heavy loads in the boot, over-inflated front tyres, worn front tyres and tracking errors.
djinuk 2 Posted June 11, 2007 no no no , not comparing it to anything other than how it felt for the previous 5 months
jim21070 2 Posted June 11, 2007 no no no , not comparing it to anything other than how it felt for the previous 5 months No worries then, that is how they are but if you remain concerned, do check the points I made above. Different makes of tyres can have a significant effect on steering feel.

djinuk 2 Posted June 11, 2007 nah not really changed anything, only thing i have noticed is a driveshaft is split but cant really imagine that being a cause

Casanova 0 Posted June 13, 2007 Do you regularly drive another car with heavier steering? That would make it feel light by comparison. §
