24seven 104 Posted June 10, 2007 I bought an Mi16 & 1.6 box off someone on here, and was told that the box had an Mi16 diff in it. what's the difference between the standard GTi diff and the Mi16 diff, if any?
Miles 331 1 Cars Posted June 10, 2007 None at all, Some people think it is uprated because it's from a more powerful car, The only differance in the boxes are the Crown-wheel's and pinion's and the Diff designed in 1993 ish which means running a 306 inner CV joint on the N/S
24seven 104 Posted June 10, 2007 (edited) ahh. good good. thanks on a not entirely unrelated note, who makes lighter flywheels, or lightens standard Mi ones, and how much would either cost me? Edited June 10, 2007 by 24Seven
petert 601 Posted June 12, 2007 There are definitely two different types of sun gears. I've compared them side by side. I'm unsure when the uprated version arrived however. Naturally I don't have the better one handy to take a pic. of because it's in the car!
fxi1900 0 Posted June 12, 2007 The mi box also has complete;y different gearing and 4:4 final drive
