Gti-6 Engine, Will I Need A

forgot to ask the guys on the weekend.

 

so when i fit the gti-6 engine, will need to fit a lambda sensor in the exhaust???

Yes, you need to buy a lamba boss, and weld that onto your downpipe.

 

If you don't, it will run in limp mode.

 

Easy to do as you have to cut your down pipe alot becauce of the bannana manifold :ph34r:

ok, thats not a problem,

 

so te 205 exhaust goes up to far for the gti-6 engine then? and need toi be shortened?

 

bugger though that would fit stright up...lol

No not a chance mate, i was hoping that after doing my brothers S16, but your talking 5ish inches!

 

Just jack the car up high and trial and error really :ph34r:

Dont forget when you weld on the boss to trial fit the probe, and try not to have it in the horizontal part of the exhaust as you find it hard to find a decent place to put it as probe needs to be on upper area of pipe to avoid damage from moisture

so can i have it on the side of the down pipe just after where the exhaust and manifold meet? say 3oclock? or does it need to be closer to 12'oclock

no thats fine as its on a 'vertical' part of downpipe, ie. you wont get water laying on the probe element
