Connections To Throttle Body (1.6 8v)

Recommended Posts

Ok i'm trying to sort out my godawful idle which seems completely random and stalls constantly when warm. I whipped the throttle body off to clean it and noticed that only one of the 5 connections was used. A small pipe with some sort of valve in it came from connection A and seemed to go toward the gearbox before connecting to nothing at all!

What should these connections go to?

Heres a pic for reference:

A is the vac advance to dizzy

B+C are water pipes to help heat the t.b in cold weather- if yours are not present, it's just been bypassed, don't worry!

D is not used on the gti

E is a breather to the oil filler cap should be a clear path that you can blow through! - and should be able to hear it sucking when engine running but nearly always gunked up. they seem to rev much more freely when these are in working order

P>S If I tried to cleanone on the kitchen sink 'er indoors would have my balls for earrings
