Very Little Brakes And Dirty Underpants

Recommended Posts

Ok so i was coming of the motorway approaching a round about and started slowly braking and as i got close i started to increase preasure on the pedal at witch point it went straight to the floor. After a moment of im going to die i released the pedal and pressed again, it puts the brakes on very briefly and drops to the floor again. I managed to get the car stopped using the handbrake and lots of pumps of the brakes. I pulled into a lay by thinking ive got a split line some where but after having a look no leaks and the resivoir is full. Ive got a feeling this is the master cylinder and all the pressure is squezing past the seals? What you think? I did wonder where the fluid would go andi can only think into the slave cylinder but im not using fluid. My only other thought is maybe with the hot weather and hot engine bay and the fact i have no history of when the fluid was changed that it might have cooked it and become useless. Either way im thankfull to be alive but pray that the bleed nipples dont snap. Can anyone shed any experiance on this matter cheers phill

Yeah, sounds exactly the same as what happened to me but luckily I was near my house! Fluid on brake servo is usual sign of MC failure!
